I Can't Hear You

An expressive typography book intertwining two texts.

One is a letter written by actress Katharine Hepburn, addressed to actor Spencer Tracy after his death. It addresses Tracy's mental health issues, such as how he couldn't bear to be himself unless he was acting as another person.

This text is accompanied by an overlayed script from the last movie they acted in together. The script is printed red on vellum paper, placed between each page of the letter, as to partly hide the text laying underneath it. My intent was to create a visual translation of the way Spencer Tracy hid from himself with the roles that he played.
